I’m giving four walking tours of Chicago’s fabulous lakefront rock carvings over the summer of 2025:
- Sunday, October 5, Promontory Point. Meet at 1 p.m. at the National Register plaque for this free tour. Note that some climbing up and down the stepstones is required. Sensible footwear recommended. Roman Villareal and Joe Cardenas will also be hosting another DIY carving workshop in the afternoon. Highly recommended — easy and fun to make your own carvings.
- Previous tours this year:
- Sunday, June 1, Promontory Point. Meet at noon at the National Register Plaque for this free tour. Note that some climbing up and down the stepstones is required.
- Saturday, July 19, Foster Beach. We’ll be looking at the carvings and other art that line the lakefront NORTH of the beach. You can register for this tour at the Edgewater Historical Society. Ticket proceeds all go to EHS.
- Sunday, August 24, Foster Beach. We’ll be looking at the carvings that line the lakefront SOUTH of the beach. You can register for this tour at the Edgewater Historical Society. Ticket proceeds all go to EHS.
